On January 12, Chen Jianguang, Deputy General Manager and a member of the Leading Party Members Group of China Minmetals Corporation, Chairman of China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC) and Secretary of the CPC MCC Committee, made a special trip to Xiong'an New Area to call on Zhang Guohua, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Hebei Province, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Xiong'an New Area, and Director of the Management Committee of Xiong'an New Area.
On behalf of the Party Working Committee and the Management Committee of Xiong'an New Area, Zhang extended warm welcome to Chen and his delegation, and expressed sincere thanks to China Minmetals and MCC for their strong support to the new area. He said that since the establishment of the new area, China Minmetals and MCC have actively served major national strategies and made positive contributions to the development of the new area by giving full play to their advantages in such fields as area development, infrastructure construction and ecological environment management. Xiong'an New Area has entered an important stage of relieving Beijing of functions not essential to its role as the capital of our country and promoting large-scale development simultaneously. The construction of key areas and major projects such as the "Boot" Pilot Area and Initial Development Zone has been accelerated. The urban framework has been fully established, the urban functions have been continuously improved, and the urban embryonic form has emerged. The new area will always adhere to project construction as the lifeline, focus on the main battlefield of the "Boot" Pilot Area, and continue to promote urban high-quality development, construction, operation and management in accordance with high standards, to create good conditions for taking on non-essential capital city functions from Beijing. It is hoped that China Minmetals and MCC will further bring their advantages into play, focus on the functional positioning and practical needs of the new area, continuously expand and deepen the cooperation between the two sides, and help the new area accelerate to build a national model of high-quality development and a high-level socialist modern city in the new era. The new area will, as always, provide quality services and support for China Minmetals and MCC, and strongly support the enterprises to achieve high-quality development there.
Chen expressed gratitude to Xiong'an New Area for its long-term care and support to China Minmetals and MCC, congratulated the new area for its dramatic advances, and briefly introduced the basic situation of MCC. He pointed out that MCC, as a central enterprise in the construction field, has a long history of development and has implemented the planning, survey, design and construction projects of major domestic large and medium-sized steel enterprises. In recent years, by virtue of its superb technology in ferrous metallurgy, MCC has succeeded in transformation and upgrading and realized outstanding achievements in high-end house construction, infrastructure and environmental governance. In 2021, MCC hit record highs in the number of new contracts signed, operating revenue and total profit , achieving a good start of the 14th Five-Year Plan.
Chen said that Xiong'an New Area, as a major recipient of functions relieved from Beijing that are non-essential to its role as China's capital, has obvious location advantages, superior business environment and broad development prospects. MCC has actively served the development of the new area. At present, a total of 14 subsidiaries have registered to establish Xiong'an branches, and have invested and constructed a large number of key projects such as the Rongxi mixing plant, the Rongdong pipeline corridor, the Rongxi resettlement housing, the central green valley in the "Boot" Pilot Area and Lot 31 in the southwest, which are widely acclaimed by all walks of life. It is hoped that both sides will continue to uphold the principle of mutual benefit and win-win results, further strengthen communication and form synergy, expand cooperation fields, innovate cooperation models, deepen cooperation levels, and promote more fruitful cooperation between the government and enterprises. China Minmetals and MCC will continue to concentrate their strengths, give full play to their advantages in investment, construction and operation, participate in the construction of the new area in all aspects, and make every effort to contribute to the high-quality development of Xiong'an New Area.
