On the morning of June 15, Guo Wenqing, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of China Minmetals, and concurrently Chairman of China Matallurgical Group (MCC), presided over a special meeting on epidemic prevention and control for Beijing-based enterprises of MCC, listening to work report from the Epidemic Prevention and Control Office of MCC and making deployments on relevant work.
The meeting held that from June 11 to June 14, a total of 79 domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases were detected in Beijing, which has shown an arduous epidemic prevention and control situation and attracted high attention from the society, causing certain impact on the work of China Minmetals. On June 14, Sun Chunlan, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, presided over a meeting of the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council. At the meeting, she led the attendees to thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions, fulfill the requirements of Premier Li Keqiang's instructions, and made deployments to stem the spread of cluster cases of COVID-19 in Beijing. Beijing's five departments, including Beijing Municipal Comprehensive Law-Enforcing Bureau Of City Administration and Beijing Administration for Market Regulation, issued the Circular on Recent Epidemic Prevention and Control during Work and Production Resumption, putting forward relevant requirements. China Minmetals made response immediately, the Epidemic Prevention and Control Office issued a relevant notice in an urgent manner according to the requirements of the superiors, and relevant work is underway orderly.
The meeting made four requirements on relevant work:
The first is to pay high attention to new situations and changes in Beijing's epidemic prevention and control work and persevere in efforts to win the battle against the virus. Capital Beijing is the heart of our country, the meeting said, Beijing's security is directly related to the overall work of the Party and the state, the overall economic and social stability, and China's international reputation. Noting that China Minmetals is a central enterprise and a Beijing-based unit, the meeting called on China Minmetals to enhance political stance, shoulder responsibilities, resolutely implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee on epidemic prevention and control, and root for the efforts of local Party committees, governments and communities to ensure epidemic prevention and control. The Epidemic Prevention and Control Office give full play its role as the "wartime headquarters" as always, step up efforts to prevent the coronavirus from entering China and stem its domestic resurgence, keep on high alert to prevent the virus, and take decisive measures to prevent another wave of spread, the meeting said.
The second is to exercise overall command and take quick actions to carry out community-based mass screening. All units in Beijing must earnestly shoulder their primary responsibilities, and conduct comprehensive screening for all their staff and people they live with in strict accordance with the requirements of Beijing, so as to leave no blind angle or no person unchecked, the meeting demanded. Efforts should be made to strengthen source control, enhance canteen management, manage every risk, and ensure safe food and dining environment, the meeting urged.
The third is to do a good job in the detection and quarantine of the employees of China Minmetals. Actions should be taken to strengthen the management of office areas and see to it that personnel and items entering and leaving the group's buildings are under strict management. Business trips to other places should be reduced, no meeting should be held if unnecessary, and daily prevention and control management at work and commuting should be guaranteed. Staff who have been to Xinfadi wholesale market should conduct a 14-day home-based quarantine, and receive health monitoring and nucleic acid testing in accordance with relevant requirements. During the home-based quarantine, the above-mentioned staff should work from home. Meanwhile, the meeting underlined that parties concerned should urge tenants to protect themselves from the virus.
The fourth is to solidly and meticulously perform duties to ensure stable and normal operation. We will continue to live our lives, surmount new mountains and walk our ways, the meeting stated. The prerequisite for all work is the solid epidemic prevention and control work, and the general principle for current work is to stabilize the work and production resumption and recover regular production and operation at a faster pace under the premise of scientific epidemic prevention and control. Actions should be taken to stabilize the group's operation in a down-to-earth manner, thus making contributions to the stability of the country.
