Recently, Guo Wenqing, General Manager of China Minmetals Corporation and Chairman of MCC, led a delegation to meet Masayuki Hyodo, President of Sumitomo Corporation in Tokyo, Japan. The two sides held in-depth and friendly talks on further cooperation in metal mining, trade logistics, real estate projects and other fields.
Guo Wenqing expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of Sumitomo Corporation and introduced the first half of the year's business performance and the basic situation of the main business of China Minmetals. Guo Wenqing pointed out that the two enterprises have signed many contracts in the field of metallic nickel spheres, zinc concentrates and other resources, and have a good basis for cooperation and mutual trust. In the future, it is necessary to deepen exchanges in various business sectors and build a long-term strategic partnership.
Guo Wenqing stressed that China Minmetals is making great efforts to strengthen, optimize and expand the metal mining sector and to build a "China's first and world-class" metal mining group. In terms of overseas resources, taking copper, nickel, lead, zinc and other strategic metals as the goal, China Minmetals, vigorously promotes the operation and development of world-class mines, and actively obtain high-quality resources. China Minmetals's Galeno project in Peru can be developed jointly with Sumitomo Corporation's recent projects to cope with country risks; in terms of trade logistics, China Minmetals has built mineral ore blending trading center of 100 million-ton class in Caofeidian; in terms of property development and infrastructure construction, China Minmetals expects to give full play to the advantages of foreign partners and build a series of demonstration projects of folk villages.
Masayuki Hyodo warmly welcomed Guo Wenqing and his delegation, introduced Sumitomo Corporation's history of development and situation of main business, expressed his emphasis on Chinese market, and also cooperation and exchanges with Chinese enterprises. Masayuki Hyodo said that Metal mining sector is the company's key business support. At present, it intends to integrate important resources such as copper, lead, zinc and nickel, and cooperate with China Minmetals to develop high-quality resources in the third country to deepen bilateral cooperation. Masayuki Hyodo appreciated Guo Wenqing's proposal and expressed his willingness to implement joint development of copper mine projects in Peru to give full play to their respective advantages and jointly respond to risks. For new energy materials, iron ore trade and real estate development, Masayuki Hyodo expressed his intention to cooperate. He hoped to establish a regular exchange mechanism with China Minmetals, consolidate the foundation of cooperation, expand the space of cooperation and jointly build a strategic partnership.
The two sides also had extensive discussions on other matters of common concern, and specified the matching departments and personnel for specific projects.
