On November 29, Zhang Zhaoxiang, Party Group member and Deputy General Manager of China Minmetals, MCC Party Committee Secretary and MCC Group General Manager, met with Shohrat Zakir, Deputy Party Chief and Chairman of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. The two sides held talks and exchanged in-depth views on enhancing MCC's project construction in Xinjiang.
Mr. Zhang expressed his gratitude to the Government of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region for its strong supports to MCC firstly and then introduced MCC's general situation of development. "MCC has forged profound friendship with Xinjiang, attached importance on the regional market here, helped with various fields，such as metallurgical engineering, low-income housing, municipal infrastructure construction, roads and bridges, contributed to Xinjiang's economic development and construction and the two sides are cooperating on numerous engineering projects at president", he stated. "Xinjiang is a strategically important area. Therefore, MCC would like to maintain the favorable partnership with Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region continuously. As a central enterprise, MCC will contribute to Xinjiang's development with its advantages on fund, technologies and talents", he stressed. Besides, he hoped that the Government of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region would keep offering strong supports to MCC and providing policy guarantee for MCC's development in Xinjiang.
Shohrat Zakir welcomed Zhang Zhaoxiang and his delegation, expressed his gratitude to MCC for its contribution to Xinjiang's development, and introduced the current situation, future development as well as development plans of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in detail. He pointed out that Xinjiang was in a critical period to construct infrastructure and expected to cooperate with responsible enterprises like MCC. He hoped that MCC could continue playing an active role in beautifying Xinjiang and building the "Belt and Road". "The Government of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region will provide necessary services, sort out projects on which the two sides can cooperate，supervise relevant units and urge them to connect and make deep cooperation with MCC", he said.
Vice Chairman Zhao Qing, People's Government Deputy Secretary-General Liang Yong, Party Secretary of the Industry and Information Technology Department Hu Kaijiang, Head of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department Li Hongbin, Head of Transportation Department Eshanjan Ahmet of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region as well as relevant employees from MCC and its subsidiaries， including Wang Shilei, Zhu Guangxia, Yu Shigong, Pan Biyi, Leng Tiesong, Wang Wei and Yang Kui, attended the meeting.
