MCC Group and Guangxi Beibu Gulf Office Sign Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement

  On December 29th, the MCC Group and Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and ASEAN Open Cooperation Office signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. Both sides will conduct cooperation on the regional development plan, city-industry integration construction, comprehensive development of new city and new area, tridimensional transport junction construction, major industrial chain extension and optimization, and other aspects. MCC Group and MCC Party Committee Deputy Secretary and MCC President Zhang Mengxing and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region People’s Government Vice-President Zhang Xiaoqin attended and witnessed the signing.

  At the signing ceremony, Zhang Mengxing sincerely thanked the Autonomous Region Party Committee and Government and Beibu Gulf Office for the long-term close attention and great support they have given to the MCC Group on behalf of MCC Group, and introduced MCC Group’s development situations in upgrading and transformation in recent years. He then pointed out that at present, MCC Group is following the strategic positioning of being the ‘national team of metallurgical construction, the main force of capital construction and the pacesetter of emerging industries, insisting on taking the road of high-tech construction in the long term’, and quickly transforming into the basic construction and new emerging industry field. He hopes that both sides will establish a long-term, stable, reciprocal, win-win, trusting, strong and comprehensive strategic cooperation relationship. MCC Group will give full play to its outstanding advantages in scientific research, technology and talents, and boost and promote the upgrading and development of Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone.

  Zhang Xiaoqin thanked the MCC Group for its contributions to Guangxi’s economic and social development for many years and briefly introduced the basic situations of the Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and ASEAN Open Cooperation. He then pointed out that in recent years, the Autonomous Region has continuously enhanced its cooperation with central enterprises, further improved and innovated the cooperation mechanism, introduced the innovation ability, management concepts and scientific technology resources of central enterprises into Guangxi, and promoted the development of the province. MCC Group has powerful comprehensive strength. He hopes that it will give full play to the advantages of a large-scale central enterprise in project planning and design, construction, investment, financing and operation management, and positively participate in the development and construction of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone in city-industry integration, tridimensional transportation junction, underground pipe galleries, major industrial parks, characteristic towns, whole-territory tourism and other important industrial projects.

  MCC Group and MCC Assistant General Manager (President) & MCC Group Domestic Market Development Department Director Zeng Jianzhong and Autonomous Region Beibu Gulf Office Secretary & Executive Deputy Director Wei Ran signed the agreement on behalf of their respective parties. After the signing ceremony, Zhang Mengxing and his delegation visited the Autonomous Region Beibu Gulf Planning and Performance Exhibition Hall accompanied by Wei Ran. The signing activity was attended by Qinzhou Municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary, China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park Working Committee Deputy Secretary and Management Committee Executive Deputy Director Gao Pu, Autonomous Beibu Gulf Office Deputy Director Wang Zongwen and Yulin City Deputy Mayor Zhu Xiaodong, as well as relevant MCC Group personnel Song Zhanjiang, Zheng Wei, Huang Tao, Wang Wei, Liang Wen, Hu Yamin, Zhang Li and others.

  During his stay in Guangxi, Zhang Mengxing also met Autonomous Region Standing Party Committee and Yulin Municipal Party Committee Secretary Mo Gongming. Both sides held talks in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, and deeply exchanged views on promoting the construction of Yulin City and the development and cooperation of Longgang New Area.

  Zhang Mengxing introduced the MCC Group’s basic situations to Mo Gongming, then pointed out that as a pioneer in the Chinese iron and steel industry, MCC Group is the world’s biggest and strongest metallurgical construction contractor and metallurgical enterprise operation service provider, having undertaken over 90% of domestic iron and steel metallurgy projects and over 60% worldwide. At present, MCC Group has fully transformed from the main business of metallurgical construction into a super large-scale comprehensive enterprise group which was ranked 290th among the Fortune Global 500 companies in 2016 and devotes itself to the four business sectors of project general contracting, real estate development, equipment manufacturing and resource development. It has especially outstanding advantages in theme parks, underground pipe galleries and other new emerging industrial fields, having undertaken Guangzhou Chimelong, Shanghai Disney, Beijing Universal Studios and other domestically famous theme parks, constructed the country’s first systematic regional comprehensive pipe gallery system in Zhuhai Hengqin and won the country’s first ‘Luban Prize’ for an underground pipe gallery. Additionally, the MCC Group is also the world’s biggest steel structure processing enterprise with a processing capacity of 3 million t/y, and it has constructed over 40% of domestic large-scale stadiums.

  Zhang Mengxing said that Guangxi has entered a new stage of rapid development in recent years. Yulin City has a long history, advanced planning and solid development. It cultivates many famous enterprises and creates a sound investment environment, depends on the development strategy of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and enjoys bright development prospects. The MCC Group will optimize its business cooperation mode and positively participate in the urban infrastructure construction of Yulin City and the whole development and construction of the new area. He hopes that both sides will establish working teams as soon as possible, implement the entry point of project cooperation, accelerate and promote the implementation of major projects, and make new contributions to Yulin City’s economic development.

  Mo Gongming welcomed Zhang Mengxing and his delegation, affectionately reviewed the friendly cooperation course with the MCC Group when he was the mayor of Fangchenggang City, highly praised MCC’s solid work style and said that state-owned enterprises do their work with a serious attitude. He also introduced Yulin City’s development in recent years and middle-term and long-term development planning, and specifically introduced Yulin City’s auxiliary urban infrastructure construction in the next three years, Longgang New Area’s 5 km2 overall development and planning, and other situations. He added that Yulin City’s future substantial economic development strategy highly matches MCC’s strategic positioning and business advantages. He hopes that both sides will conduct deep cooperation in the urban development construction field, jointly promote the landing of the high-end assembly manufacturing industrial base in Yulin and make new contributions to accelerating Yulin’s development.

  The meeting was attended by Yulin Municipal Standing Committee Member and Deputy Mayor Qiu Dekui, Autonomous Region Beibu Gulf Office Deputy Director Wang Zongwen, Yulin City Deputy Mayor Zhu Xiaodong and Yulin City Investment Promotion Bureau Director General Chang Rongdong, as well as relevant MCC Group personnel Zeng Jianzhong, Song Zhanjiang, Zheng Wei, Huang Tao, Wang Wei and others.
