On March 14th, China Minmetals Corporation General Manager & Party Group Deputy Secretary Guo Wenqing met Anhui Provincial Standing Party Committee Member & Lu'an Municipal Party Committee Secretary Sun Yunfei. Both parties exchanged their opinions on reinforcing cooperation in such fields as the metallic mining industry and infrastructure construction. The meeting was attended by Minmetals Corporation Deputy General Manager and Party Group Member Feng Guiquan and Deputy General Manager, Party Group Member and MCC General Manager & Party Committee Deputy Secretary Zhang Zhaoxiang.
Guo Wenqing welcomed the delegation led by Sun Yunfei and pointed out that the scale of the new China Minmetals Corporation has now reached RMB 750 billion; it also managed financial assets of RMB 800 billion and realized operation revenue of RMB 440 billion last year, which is a considerable volume. China Minmetals is the only state-owned asset investment company approved by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission in the metallic mining industry, applying itself to creating a metallic mining industry group which is ‘First in China and first-class in the world’. As a central enterprise, China Minmetals also shoulders the responsibility of promoting old revolutionary base areas. Minmetals Mining is its important business platform in Anhui. The ‘Three Steps, Two Doubles’ goal put forward by China Minmetals has improved the development of Minmetals Mining, and it will assume more responsibility for promoting regional development. Guo Wenqing said that the integration of mineral resources conforms to the development requirements of both parties. On the integrated development of the Huoqiu Iron Mine and Jinzhai Molybdenum Minerals, both sides can adopt patterns including mixed ownership to reinforce cooperation. MCC will also give full play to its advantages in the steel industry and infrastructure construction, and help old revolutionary base areas to escape poverty and embrace prosperity.
Sun Yunfei expressed gratitude for the passionate reception of Guo Wenqing and the support of China Minmetals for many years, then pointed out that the revolutionary revitalization of the Dabie Mountains area is a crucial task of Lu'an City. It is necessary to greatly promote long-term stability and poverty-alleviation based on entity industry development, and increase the resource integration strength of the Huoqiu Iron Mine, Jinzhai Molybdenum Minerals and so on. It is hoped that the cooperation relationship with China Minmetals will continue and deepen.
