Xu Xiangchun and Others Visit Myanmar for Project Investigation and Negotiation

From December 11th to 16th, 2016, at the invitation of the Myanmar State Infrastructure Holding Company, MCC Group Deputy General Manager Xu Xiangchun and others visited Myanmar to carry out project investigation and negotiation. This time, they visited the Myanmar Industry Ministry’s Minister, Deputy Minister and Director General, Construction Ministry Deputy Minister, Ministry of Tourism Deputy Minister and Union Solidarity and Development Party Secretary General, and paid an official visit to China's Ambassador to Myanmar Hong Liang and Economic & Commercial Counselor Xie Guoxiang. They also visited the Myanmar Kingsoft Company, Myanmar State Infrastructure Holding Company and Chunjiang Company Myanmar Branch, and held talks with EIBC’s Chief Representative in Hong Kong Wen Hong, ICBC Rangoon Branch President Jiang Yun and Singapore United Overseas Bank Myanmar Branch President Harry Loh. Xu Xiangchun also inspected MCC Group’s office in Myanmar and greeted CTMCC’s staff in the Myanmar Project Department.

Xu Xiangchun introduced MCC Group’s overall situation to all Burmese representatives and officials, pointing out that MCC Group is ranked 290th in the ‘World Top 500 Enterprises’ and 8th in ENR’s ‘Global Top 250 Contractors’ in 2016. MCC Group is the world’s largest and strongest contractor of metallurgical construction and service provider for the operation of metallurgical enterprises. It is also China’s largest manufacturing enterprise with the largest output of steel structure, accounting for 60% of the global metallurgical construction market. Now, MCC Group is developing stably in the four business sectors of the general contracting of projects, real estate development, equipment manufacturing and resource development. It is also seeking breakthroughs in such fields as industrial park development, underground integrated pipe galleries, large comprehensive stadiums, theme parks, environmental protection, high-end residence construction and municipal transportation infrastructure. In 2016, MCC Group’s contract amount in non-steel fields accounted for nearly 90% of its total. Its contract amount also realized huge growth in such fields as municipal transportation infrastructure construction, high-end residence construction, environmental engineering and new energy. Its leading position in emerging industries is now well-founded. Xu Xiangchun also introduced the recombination situation of China Minmetals and MCC Group. After the recombination, the new China Minmetals’ total assets exceed RMB 750 billion, and its operation revenue has reached RMB 430 billion.

The Myanmar Government representatives and officials expressed their gratitude to MCC Group for the contributions the Group made to constructing the Thapaung Pulp Mill and recovering its production. They then introduced the country’s recent development and invited MCC Group to take part in Myanmar’s Paper Making Industry Park Project, Highway Project, Governmental Security Housing Project, Self-owned Land Development Project, Hotel Reconstruction Project and Lead-Zinc Mine Project.

The delegation of this visit included MCC International Group Standing Vice General Manager Gu Yuxiang, CRIBC Assistant President and Singapore Branch General Manger Tan Zhiyong and others.
