On November 16th, China Minmetals President & Deputy Party Committee Secretary and MCC Group President & Party Committee Secretary Guo Wenqing inspected the Bambas Copper Mine Project in Departamento de Apurímac. During the visit, Guo Wenqing and his group inspected the production and supporting facilities in such places as the slope, copper concentrate processing plant, molybdenum processing plant and campsite.

Guo Wenqing thanked the project management team and front line employees for their hard work on behalf of Minmetals’ leaders and President He Wenbo. He said he can affirm the project's favorable production and operation condition through his field inspection, and expressed that he considers it to be a shocking and exciting project! He was also satisfied with the work performance of Minmetals Resources and the Bambas team. In order to encourage everyone, he added that following the strategic recombination of Minmetals and MCC last December, the new Minmetals is positioned by the Chinese Government as China’s first world-class metals company. It possesses magnificent strategic development planning, and Bambas is an important step. He also required everyone to work together with scientific, detailed and strict management, firmly control operation costs and exploit potential resources, thereby jointly realizing the Company’s generous vision.

Guo Wenqing and his delegation were accompanied by Minmetals Resources President Michelle Moore, Bambas Company President Gomez and other management teams throughout the visit. After the inspection, Guo Wenqing held a work conference at which he heard the work reports of Minmetals Resources President Michelle Moore and Bambas Company President Gomez. He understood the project's related transportation and community conditions from the project team, and instructed everyone to complete the foundation work, fully exert policy resources and take this good opportunity of frequent interaction between the top leaders of China and Peru to properly solve related problems in such aspects as transportation.
