On November 3rd, China MCC President Zhang Mengxing and others went to Shenzhen to meet China Merchants Group Vice General Manager Sun Chengming and Shenzhen SEZ Construction and Development Group Co., Ltd. Chairman Wang Bin. In a friendly atmosphere, they conducted deep communication on participating in the construction of the Shenzhen International Convention Centre Project, speeding up comprehensive pipe gallery construction and further broadening their cooperation fields, finally reaching an agreement.
In the morning of November 3rd, Zhang Mengxing, Sun Chengming and others held a meeting. Zhang Mengxing said that in recent years, under the new strategy of being the 'national team of metallurgical construction, the main force of infrastructure construction and the pacesetter of emerging industries, taking the road of high-tech construction in the long term', MCC has positively achieved transformation and upgrading. At present, MCC has built professional advantages in all the industries of highly advanced projects including highway transportation, urban complexes, housing construction, large stadiums and long span steel structure, and created a large number of representative projects at home and abroad, therein accumulating abundant design and construction experience. He pointed out that China MCC and the China Merchants Group are both large enterprises with the same values, a decent cooperation basis and years of deep friendship, so they are perfectly suited to complement each other’s advantages, make a powerful combination and conduct cooperation in such key areas as infrastructure, real estate, urban complexes, housing construction and large stadiums, thereby promoting the healthy and scientific development of both parties, and achieving mutual benefits. He also pointed out that the Shenzhen International Convention Centre covers an area of 1,480,000m2 and an indoor area of 500,000m2. Upon completion, it will be the largest convention centre in the world, and an important landmark project for Shenzhen’s future development. A grand foundation stone laying ceremony was held on September 28th. He hopes that both parties will speed up the project's construction and ensure its full completion.
Sun Chengming welcomed Zhang Mengxing and his partners, then briefly introduced the whole development situation of the China Merchants Group, emphatically explaining its project construction requirements in the whole business. He said that business between the China Merchants Group and China MCC has strong complementarity and a firm foundation. MCC has enjoyed good performance in the construction of large gymnasiums and convention centers, so he welcomes MCC to participate in the construction of the Shenzhen International Convention Centre, as well as the China Merchants Group’s own business such as the peripheral Airport New City, Shenzhen Qianhai and Shekou Taizi Bay. In the meeting, Zhang Mengxing introduced the MCC Group’s basic situation in general project contracting, real estate development, equipment manufacturing and resource development, with a focus on MCC’s outstanding advantages in municipal infrastructure, large gymnasiums, theme parks, energy conservation and environmental protection. After reviewing the profound history between MCC and Shenzhen, President Zhang Mengxing pointed out that the MCC Group pays close attention to Shenzhen’s business development, and has built a good strategic cooperation relationship with the Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Government.
