On October 31st, China Minmetals Group President, MCC President & Party Secretary and China MCC President Guo Wenqing met Belgian Zeebrugge Port Office Chairman and Damme Mayor Mr. Kong Zhi at the MCC Headquarters in Beijing. Both parties held amicable talks in a friendly atmosphere and exchanged views on the memorandum of understanding signed between Zeebrugge Port, COSCO and the China Minmetals Group, as well as cooperation matters.

After their successful strategic recombination, China Minmetals and the MCC Group form an integrated industrial chain including resource obtaining, investigation, design, construction, operation and circulation, and they are devoted to forging a world-class metallic mining enterprise group. With a trade circulation network spreading around the globe, the Company stably plays a leading role in global procurement and marketing, and the circulation scale of metal mining products. China Minmetals will introduce the advantageous resources of large amounts of commodities in international trade into the 'Silk Road' operation center, effectively carry out all services from design to delivery, including the park design, construction, devices and material procurement of the 'Silk Road' operation center, provide qualified products with good quality in good time, and ensure the timely completion of the project with satisfactory operating conditions. Zeebrugge Port Office Chairman and Damme Mayor Kong Zhi thanked President Guo Wenqing for his warm reception and briefly introduced the basic situation of Zeebrugge Port. Located in the core international trade region of Western Europe, the 'Silk Road' operation center is the geographical destination of the national 'One Belt and One Road' strategy. It will be forged into an overseas base combining free trade and overseas bonded warehouses, international trade and exhibition, e-commerce and settlement, directly serving Chinese exporters. Belgium is looking forward to carrying out in-depth cooperation with China Minmetals, and warmly invites President Guo Wenqing to visit Belgium and Zeebrugge Port in his spare time.
The memorandum of understanding concerning the 'Silk Road' operation center signed by Zeebrugge Port, COSCO and China Minmetals in the Great Hall of the People is recommended by the Chinese Ambassador to Belgium and Belgian Ambassador to China, and approved by the Commerce Department and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is one of six projects that the leaders of the two countries witnessed the signing of during the Belgium Prime Minister’s visit to China.
