On October 24th, China Minmetals General Manager and MCC President & Party Committee Secretary Guo Wenqing met visiting Deputy Secretary and Mayor of Zhejiang Taizhou Municipal Committee Zhang Bing at the MCC Headquarters in Beijing. Both parties held talks in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, and exchanged in-depth views on accelerating the Taizhou Cultural Theme Park Project and further enhancing their cooperation in such fields as underground comprehensive pipe galleries, traffic works and municipal infrastructure.

Guo Wenqing welcomed Mayor Zhang Bing and his delegation, and expressed his gratitude for the trust and support provided by Taizhou City. He then pointed out that MCC has successfully realized its transformation and it is now working towards being the 'national team of metallurgical construction, the main force of infrastructure construction and the pacesetter of emerging industries, insisting on taking the road of high-tech construction in the long term'. Underground comprehensive pipe galleries and theme parks have been developed into the MCC Group’s highpoints and strengths. MCC shoulders its responsibilities and helps the government to solve its problems. It has established a steel pipe gallery and concrete fabricated pipe gallery base, and completed the construction of the steel pipe gallery demonstration section in Hengshui, Hebei Province, which successfully resolves the rust-proofing, fire resistance, seepage-proofing and lifetime of steel pipe galleries, lowers the cost by 30%, greatly shortens the construction period and has a great positive effect in solving the national steel overcapacity. MCC is the only enterprise with a theme park design and construction qualification in China, and has successfully completed the construction of Singapore Universal Studios, Shanghai Disney, Zhuhai Chime-Long Ocean Kingdom and several oversize cultural theme parks, thereby accumulating rich experience. At present, MCC is building Nanjing Dragon Nest, Huaian Journey to the West, Indonesia MNC, the design of Beijing Universal Studios and so on. With sound development momentum and abundant funds, the MCC Group has greatly improved its resource allocation and investment and financing ability, especially after its successful strategic recombination with China Minmetals. To date, it has invested a total of RMB 180 billion in PPP projects.

In spite of the increasing pressure of the national economic downturn, Guo Wenqing added, Taizhou’s economic society maintains a good development momentum, and each economic target is favorable. After in-depth contact with the Taizhou government at all levels, we deeply feel that Taizhou has a good environment and people, as well as a good work style, atmosphere and responsibility among its cadres. MCC has great confidence in Taizhou, and is willing to take root in the City to pursue intensive cultivation. It will accelerate the preparation of the theme park plan and business model, sign the cooperation agreement as soon as possible, accelerate project construction and increase project investment under the precondition of controllable risks. We hope that the Taizhou Municipal Party Committee and Government will provide a larger stage for MCC, and entrust the Group with all of its underground comprehensive pipe gallery, real estate, urban infrastructure and other projects. We must exert our advantages to complete these projects with high quality, high speed and optimal costs, thereby making contributions to the economic and social development of Taizhou City.

Zhang Bing congratulated MCC on its great achievements of reform, innovation and development, thanked President Guo Wenqing for his warm reception, and briefly presented the basic information of Taizhou City. He began by pointing out that Taizhou is the birthplace of the private economy. Its economy has strongly recovered, fixed-asset investment and consumption are greatly increased, and its exports also rose positively during the first three quarters of the year, making Taizhou the central traffic hub city of Zhejiang Province. Taizhou is closely linked to the MCC Group with a close relationship. MCC possesses advanced technology, strong construction capacity and rich experience in such fields as underground comprehensive pipe galleries and cultural theme parks. He hopes that both parties will continue to intensify their exchange and communication, develop the theme park plan as soon as possible, strive to sign the agreement by the end of the year, establish a joint company and accelerate the construction of projects. Taizhou City welcomes the MCC Group to actively participate in such fields as underground comprehensive pipe galleries, real estate and infrastructure, and the Municipal Party Committee and Government will provide vigorous support as ever.

The meeting was attended by Taizhou Bay Industrial Cluster District Administrative Committee Director Cheng Jin, Municipal Government Secretary General Jiang Bingfeng, Municipal Government Deputy Secretary General and Beijing Office Director Liu Xinjun and Deputy Director Wang Xin, China Minmetals Vice President and MCC General Manager & President Zhang Zhaoxiang, Vice President Zhang Mengxing, MCC Overseas General Manager Wu Qingyu, MCC Domestic Marketing Department Director Zeng Jianzhong, Investment Management Department Deputy Director Wang Wei, CRIBC Vice President Lu Yijie and others.
