On July 7th, China Minmetals General Manager, MCC President and Party Committee Secretary Guo Wenqing met with Qiqihar Municipal Party Secretary Sun Kun at the MCC Headquarters in Beijing. Both parties held a meeting in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, discussed their friendship, reviewed their favorable cooperation history, looked forward to future prospects for cooperation and deeply exchanged opinions on further strengthening cooperation in such fields as urban infrastructure, underground comprehensive pipe galleries and equipment manufacturing.
Guo Wenqing welcomed Secretary Sun Kun and his delegation to MCC, expressed his thanks for the strong support offered by the Qiqihar Municipal Party Committee and Government to the MCC Group for many years, and put forward several constructive suggestions for the future development of Qiqihar City. He pointed out that, as an important regional hub city in the Northeast China Region, Qiqihar has a good ecological environment, abundant tourism resources and convenient transportation; however, for historical reasons, the positioning of Qiqihar City is not distinct enough, its infrastructure construction needs improvement and its calling cards are in short supply, which only serves to illustrate that Qiqihar has great development potential. As an expert in solving comprehensive urban problems and a nationwide practitioner of such advanced concepts as smart city and sponge city technology, the MCC Group has established 6 technology research institutes for comprehensive pipe galleries, smart city & beautiful village technology, sponge city technology, theme parks, water environment technology, and the healthcare industry, which have successfully completed many projects and accumulated rich experience. Following the strategic recombination with China Minmetals, MCC possesses complete licenses with strong investment and financing capacity in such fields as trusts, funds, securities and banking. The MCC Group will give full play to its own advantages to not only make scientific plans for the development of Qiqihar but also provide financial support for the development of the City through such models as PPP. Both parties will strengthen communication, further enhance cooperation in such fields as urban infrastructure, integrated development in urban areas, and underground comprehensive pipe galleries, and make contributions to the development of Qiqihar City and promoting the quality of life of its citizens.
Sun Kun thanked President Guo Wenqing and the other MCC leaders for their warm welcome and the contributions made by the MCC Group to the development of Qiqihar City for many years, and offered his congratulations on the strategic recombination of MCC and China Minmetals. He then pointed out that the MCC Group has a development history of over 20 years in Qiqihar City, has completed many good-quality projects, has earned good brand image and public praise, and has cultivated a deep friendship with the local government and people. After hearing President Guo Wenqing’s suggestions for the development of Qiqihar City, he and his party were deeply enlightened and truly sensed the President’s full understanding and profound feeling for the City, and also feel the broad vision of MCC people. Concerning infrastructure, Qiqihar has been deeply damaged by fragmented development with too many historical bills due. The people have many opinions, especially about underground pipe networks. In accordance with the new requirements of the Central Government, they are also positively pursuing the development of the City. He hopes that the MCC Group will give full play to its advantages and strong investment and financing capacity in such fields as urban infrastructure, underground comprehensive pipe galleries and comprehensive planning in urban areas, and play an active role in the urban planning and construction of Qiqihar City. The Qiqihar Municipal Party Committee and Government will lend strong support as always.
