From June 18th to 20th, MCC Vice President and MCC International Group President Zhang Mengxing visited Sri Lanka, met with Sri Lanka Road Development Bureau President Mr. Nihal R. Sooriyarachchi and signed a contract for the High-speed S1-PACK1 Project in Central Sri Lanka.
With an overall length of 4.04 km and a designed speed of 100 km/h, this project is an extension line for high-speed roads in the central regions of the country, and part of the general contracting agreement that MCC signed on August 4th, 2015. Connecting the central cities of Kadawatha and Kossinna, it will connect with the outer-ring expressways of the capital Colombo and shorten the travelling time from Colombo to the central city of Kandy. With a contractual time limit of 30 months, the project's is owned by the Sri Lanka Road Development Bureau.
Before the signing ceremony, both parties had a cordial and friendly conversion. Sri Lanka Executive Secretary and Road Development Bureau President Mr. Nihal R. Sooriyarachchi reviewed the achievements that MCC has made in the engineering construction field in Sri Lanka, fully affirmed the CKE Airport Highway Project and OCH Colombo Outer Ring Highway Project currently under construction and generally spoke highly of the MCC Group. Zhang Mengxing expressed his gratitude for the trust and support offered to MCC by the Executive Secretary and Road Development Bureau in the long term, and pointed out that MCC will cherish each chance to cooperate, constantly surpass itself, delicate one excellent project after another to the people of Sri Lanka and return the trust and great kindness that it has received from the Government and people of the country.
During his visit, Zhang Mengxing also met with Sri Lanka Prime Minister Consultant Mr. Paskaralingam, Judicial Government Decree and South Development Department Director Mr. Hon. Sagala Ratnayaka and Colombo Mayor Mr. A. J. M. Muzammil. The related activities were participated in by MCC20 President Zhang Jinxian and Vice General Manager Yin Xin, MCC International Group Vice General Manager Wang Zhou and others.
