The Shenzhen Dameisha International Tourism Zone, planned and designed by WISDRI, is the first project in China to incorporate the concept of a "sponge city." Covering an area of ​​4.33 km2, the zone addresses the characteristics of the Dameisha area, such as high rainfall and water scarcity due to its coastal location. It applies unique purification and reuse technologies tailored to local conditions, diverting 1/3 of the area's rainwater to Wish Lake, transforming Wish Lake into a water storage and reuse base. This solves the problem of building a sponge city in a water-scarce coastal city and makes it a model for seaside tourist cities.
