The 78,900 m3 catamaran storage tank, the largest C-type LNG carrier built in China, undertaken by MCC1, has successfully filled the gap in the application of domestically produced nickel-saving 7Ni steel in liquefied gas carriers. MCC1 has mastered key technologies for the construction of low-temperature nickel alloy steel shipborne storage tanks, overcome the challenges of 7Ni steel welding processes, and developed technologies such as precision cold pressing, assembly integration, and automated welding. These technologies have effectively promoted the localization of high-end liquefied gas carriers and LNG storage and transportation equipment, helping my country to take a leading position in the global clean energy industry chain.
