Based on the key points and difficulties of the Shandong Dongying Port-Wantong Petrochemical oil pipeline project, MCC2 conducted the "Research on Comprehensive Construction Technology for Large-Diameter Long-Distance Horizontal Directional Drilling Across the Yellow River". It innovatively developed a complete set of comprehensive construction technologies for horizontal directional drilling across the Yellow River, including new polymer thixotropic mud preparation technology, automatic directional system + auxiliary artificial magnetic field + guide hole drilling and casing control technology, and mud backflow control technology. This ensured the smooth crossing of the Yellow River of the large-diameter oil pipeline, setting a record for the longest single crossing of the Yellow River by an oil pipeline in China, with a crossing length of 3,116 m. It is also the first oil pipeline with insulation layer to cross the Yellow River. This technological achievement has won several national awards and has been identified by industry experts as reaching the "international advanced" level.
