On the morning of April 14, 2026 National Industry Vocational Skills Competition — the Fifth National Metallurgical Construction Industry Vocational Skills Competition and the 10th China MCC Vocational Skills Competition officially opened in Chongqing.
Designated as a National Class II Vocational Skills Competition, this event was jointly organized by the China Metallurgical Construction Association, the China Employment Training Technical Guidance Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and the Metallurgical Corporation of China Limited, with China MCC Metallurgical Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd. serving as the host. The competition aimed to deeply implement the national strategy for strengthening the workforce through talent development, promote the spirit of model workers, the spirit of labor, and the spirit of craftsmanship, and advance the construction of a high-skilled talent pool within the metallurgical construction industry. This initiative is intended to provide a solid talent foundation for the company's reform, innovation, and high-quality development.
Exceptional engineering surveyors from 13 subsidiary enterprises of MCC competed and exchanged expertise on-site, broadening their perspectives, honing their skills, and igniting their motivation through real-world challenges, thereby fostering a vigorous atmosphere of learning, competition, and excellence. The competition consists of two components: a theoretical knowledge examination and a practical operation contest, with the latter accounting for 80% of the total score. The practical segment covers three modules—first-order traverse surveying, third-order leveling, and total station construction lofting—comprehensively evaluating participants' professional proficiency and hands-on abilities.
China MCC has hosted vocational skills competitions for ten consecutive editions, cultivating a cohort of national technical experts and other high-level, high-skill talents through events at various levels. Moving forward, the company will leverage this competition as a new starting point to continuously improve the long-term mechanism for skill talent cultivation. It will persist in promoting learning, training, assessment, and development through competition, encouraging more young employees to pursue skill-based career paths and serve the nation through technical expertise, thereby consolidating a skilled talent foundation for the company's high-quality development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
