MCC Holds a Spring Festival Rally to Celebrate the Chinese New Year of 2020

　　Everything begins to blossom with vitality when spring comes. In the run-up to the Chinese New Year of 2020, Guo Wenqing, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of China Minmetals, and concurrently Chairman of MCC, led the members of MCC's leadership in Beijing to extend Chinese New Year greetings to the staff of MCC at a spring festival rally. MCC's leaders and more than 300 staff members of its headquarters and some subsidiaries in Beijing gathered together to review the fruitful results of MCC in 2019 and to co-create a new chapter for MCC in 2020. The spring festival rally was presided over by Zhang Zhaoxiang, Party Group member and Deputy General Manager of China Minmetals, MCC Group and China MCC Party Committee Secretary and MCC Group General Manager.

　　Guo Wenqing delivered a warm Spring Festival speech at the rally. First of all, on behalf of China Minmetals and MCC, he paid a New Year greeting to the staff of China Minmetals and MCC in all parts of the world. He expressed his gratitude to them for their hard work for a long time, and also extended greetings and heartfelt wishes to all retired experts, elder employees, staff families and friends from all walks of life who are concerned about the development of MCC. He wished them all the best!

　　At the rally, Guo Wenqing vividly used the word "Fat Pig Year" to describe the remarkable achievements of China Minmetals and MCC in 2019, and specifically explained four aspects worthy of praise.

　　I. High Performance. He pointed out that in 2019, under the target of "quadrupling profits in three steps", China Minmetals' production and operation scale achieved a steady growth for 4 consecutive years, with the quality of development improved continuously. Its operating revenue exceeded RMB 600 billion for the first time, and profits increased by 13.3% year on year. The steps towards "quadrupling profits in three steps" are firmer, steadier and more wonderful. MCC also continued to maintain a rising development trend. It recorded a new high in operating performance indices and scored highest in history in respect of the asset quality indices, winning wide praise and strong responses from the society.

　　II. Excellent Workstyle. In 2019, we further carried out an education activity themed on "staying true to the original aspiration and keeping the mission firmly in mind", actively cooperated with the third round of disciplinary inspections launched by the 19th CPC Central Committee and the inspection on ecological and environmental protection, and completed various tasks with high standards and quality. Such achievements are owed to the strong leadership of China Minmetals and MCC, and to all the staff's strict implementation of the requirement of "high-level self-management".

　　III. Satisfying Incomes. Over the four years since its recombination, the income level of MCC staff has been increasing year by year. Employees' sense of gain, happiness and accomplishment has continued to increase. We will persist in doing anything that satisfies the people. As long as we work together to build MCC into a better enterprise, the life of all our employees will be better and happier.

　　IV. Good Image. Due to MCC's worldwide presence, every corner of the world can behold what MMC is capable of. MCC has appeared on CCTV's program called "On the Way" to present its overseas projects, won the gold prize in the World Skills Competition for three consecutive years and participated in CCTV's Casting in China Program to promote the world's best national team of metallurgical construction. With these efforts, we can confidently say that MCC has been in the center of the world-class stage of metallurgical design and construction, and successfully completed its goal as scheduled to maintain a labor force of about 100,000 people, achieve the operating revenue of about RMB 300 billion, and gain a profit of about RMB 10 billion. We owe these achievements to the strong and correct leadership of the CPC Central Committee, to our strict accordance with and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and even to our solid strategic determination. "Focusing on the main business of MCC and building a better MCC" is the strategic position of MCC, which will not change. "No delaying and slacking" bears the feelings of MCC staff and is also the great achievement created by MCC staff in practice, which will not change. The humanity idea and corporate culture of building MCC into "the ideal highland for young people, the platform for middle-aged people's entrepreneurship and development, and the harbor for the elderly to recuperate" will not change.

　　As for what MCC will do in 2020, Guo Wenqing raised four ardent hopes:

　　First, Focus on Politics and Responsibility. Politics is a compulsory course for the leadership and a lifelong task for members of the Communist Party. From the overall perspective of the development of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the country in the new era, General Secretary Xi Jinping took a broad and long-term view, made an overall plan, and made a series of important judgments, showing the world the style and courage of a generation of leaders. We should continue to "stay true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind" and forge ahead on the path guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era; We should complete the Party's business with "faith in the heart and passion and loyalty". Under the top-level design made by General Secretary Xi Jinping, we will become the "brave warrior" who will advance bravely and fight till the end.

　　Second, Be Practical and Efficient. State-owned enterprises are the important material and political bases of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and also an important part of the national governance system led by CPC. The biggest responsibility of state-owned enterprises is to develop their production and operation well and accomplish the tasks assigned by CPC. Members of CPC and the management should be brave and able to take and good at taking responsibility, and take problem-solving as the direction of research and the key to work. They should be practical and efficient, show professional skills, shoulder the responsibility and mission, and constantly promote the reform and development of enterprises.

　　Third, Focus on Unity and Harmony. In the past few years, all staff members of MCC have been working together to help each other, and have always adhered to the unity and continuous development. MCC has not only built the best national team of metallurgical construction in the world, but also maintained a good momentum of development and achieved high-tech and high-quality development. The leadership of MCC should always keep their inner world pure, strive to be good and beautiful with kindness, take responsibility for conscience, take the initiative to complete the task, and jointly compose a wonderful chapter of long-term prosperity and stability for MCC.

　　Fourth, Focus on Perfect Mastery and Work Style. Work style construction should be carried out continuously. In recent years, the practice of MCC has fully proved that adhering to the leadership of CPC and paying close attention to the construction of the Party conduct and of an honest and clean government and the work-style of the management has become a major political advantage and a "magic key" for MCC to overcome difficulties and strive for self-improvement. We should continue to pay close attention to the work-style of the management and make steady progress in comprehensively governing the party with strict discipline; seriously carry out the inspection and rectification, truly shoulder the responsibility of rectification and implement the rectification measures; strictly implement the Eight-point Frugality Code of the CPC Central Committee and the discipline of incorruptible business, unswervingly put discipline and rules in the first place, and constantly guarantee the "building the best national team of metallurgical construction in the world" of MCC with the continuously rising good performance and the excellent management team!
