On February 17, Zhang Mengxing, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of MCC and Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of China MCC, met with Zhu Shixi, Secretary of the CPC Nanyang Municipal Committee, Wang Zhihui, Mayor of Nanyang City, and their delegation in Beijing. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on deepening cooperation in urban infrastructure, rail transit construction, environmental governance, healthcare industries and other areas.
Zhang Mengxing started with a warm welcome to Zhu Shixi and his delegation, thanked the CPC Nanyang Municipal Committee and Nanyang Municipal Government for their years of support for MCC, and briefed them on MCC's history and development. Zhang Mengxing said that based on the strong technological strength in ferrous metallurgy, MCC has realized transformation and achieved great results in infrastructure and emerging industries. In 2021, MCC hit record highs in all economic indicators, realizing a good start of the 14th Five-Year Plan. That has been highly praised by all sectors of society. Nanyang is not only a national famous historical and cultural city, but also a sub-central city of Henan Province with huge potential for development. MCC attaches great importance to Nanyang's markets, with CERI, China First Metallurgical Group Co., Ltd., MCC17, MCC Road & Bridge Construction Co., Ltd. and other MCC's major subsidiaries actively participating in the construction of the city. As such, MCC has established sound and long-term cooperation relations with Nanyang. As Nanyang's new round of urban development planning is highly consistent with MCC's business strengths, MCC will establish special work groups to align with the CPC Nanyang Municipal Committee and Nanyang Municipal Government, and further deepen cooperation in urban infrastructure, rail transit construction, environmental governance, healthcare industries and other areas, so as to make greater contributions to Nanyang's socio-economic development.
Zhu Shixi expressed sincere thanks to MCC for its contributions to Nanyang's development, and briefly introduced Nanyang's economic and social development. He said that Nanyang is a city with a large population and strong economy in Henan Province. It is rich in culture and talented people. With its total economic aggregate ranking 3rd in Henan Province, Nanyang as a sub-central city will face exciting development opportunities again, as evidenced by heavy tasks such as urban renewal, infrastructure, municipal transportation construction and environmental governance. The CPC Nanyang Municipal Committee and Nanyang Municipal Government wished that MCC, as a central enterprise with abundant strength in technology and capital, international and domestic influence, and social responsibility, could play a part in Nanyang's development. By aligning with MCC, they hoped to find an effective way of cooperation and discover a new path in line with Nanyang's urban upgrading. They also hoped that MCC will build quality and impressive projects in Nanyang and serve as a model to contribute more to Nanyang's high-quality development.
Wang Zhihui said that Nanyang boasts advantages in aviation, railways, waterways, and highways. The cooperation between the CPC Nanyang Municipal Committee and Nanyang Municipal Government and MCC in central urban area construction, urbanization, municipal transportation construction, environmental governance and other areas manifests tremendous potential and space. The two sides are expected to further strengthen exchanges and give full play to their respective strengths to achieve cooperation in more areas. The CPC Nanyang Municipal Committee and Nanyang Municipal Government will intensify service support, ensure that work in all respects is advanced with quality, and provide a first-class business environment for further progress in central and local cooperation, thus achieving mutual benefits, win-win results, and common development.
