On June 22nd, a delegation led by MCC Group Party Committee Deputy Secretary and President Zhang Mengxing paid an official call on Yunnan Provincial Party Standing Committee Member and Standing Deputy Governor Zong Guoying in Kunming City, Yunnan Province. Both sides held an exchange and discussion on further reinforcing their strategic partnership and jointly accelerating the expressway construction of Yunnan Province.
President Zhang Mengxing first conveyed Chairman Guo Wenqing's greetings to Deputy Governor Zong Guoying and briefly introduced the MCC Group's historical reform and development, pointing out that MCC is the world’s largest and strongest metallurgical engineering construction contractor and operation service provider of metallurgical enterprises. It has succeeded in transformation in recent years and devoted itself to being the ‘national team of metallurgical construction, the main force of capital construction and the pacesetter of emerging industries, insisting on taking the road of high-tech construction in the long term’. MCC is the state-owned construction enterprise with the largest number of double special-grade construction qualification enterprises, the steel structure production enterprise with the greatest capacity domestically, one of 16 central enterprises in the first batch of enterprises taking real estate development as their main industry as confirmed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and the only domestic enterprise to hold the theme park design and construction qualification. Urban infrastructure, rail transit, high-end housing, underground comprehensive pipe galleries, theme parks, sewage treatment, garage incineration power generation and other fields have been developed into MCC's primary business sectors and fields of advantage. MCC has formed a strong construction service ability in the urban transport and infrastructure construction domains, including expressways, bridges, roads, airports, ports and rail transit, and succeeded in undertaking a batch of symbolic projects by virtue of its plentiful design experience and strong project management capacity, as well as the mutual support of its strong technical equipment and construction ability. Such projects as Zhuhai Hengqin New District’s Municipal Roads, Chengdu’s New Second Ring Viaduct, Zhejiang’s Hangjinqu Expressway and Zhajiasu Expressway, Sri Lanka’s Country Gate No. 1 Road, Mauritania’s Happiness Delta Highway Project and so on are among MCC's representative municipal traffic projects.
Zhang Mengxing pointed out that Yunnan Province currently faces a favorable development period. Such significant national development strategies as the ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative and Yangtze River Economic Belt have transformed Yunnan from a ‘point’ to the leading edge in reform and opening up, and given it very wide prospects. MCC constantly pays close attention to the development of the Yunnan market, and has specially established MCC South Asia Investment and Development Co., Ltd. to actively devote itself to the economic and social development tides of Yunnan. On March 2nd, the China Minmetals Corporation signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Yunnan Provincial People's Government in order to lay a good foundation for advancing the follow-up cooperation and deep connection of both parties. It is hoped that the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Government will further enhance their communication and relations with the MCC Group, carry out multi-dimensional in-depth cooperation in broader domains including domestic large-scale infrastructure construction and rail transit construction, spare no efforts to promote the landing of Yunnan’s provincial infrastructure projects and make joint contributions to the prosperity and development of Yunnan Province.
Deputy Governor Zong Guoying warmly welcomed the delegation led by President Zhang Mengxing and briefly introduced the basic development situation of Yunnan Province, pointing out that Yunnan is currently in the key stage of accelerating development, taking the facility construction of ‘5 networks’ (the road network, aviation network, energy network, water network and information network) as the tools, and making efforts to boost the construction of comprehensive transport infrastructure, thereby providing a wide space for enterprise development and creating new integration points for cooperation between both parties. He hopes that the MCC Group will firmly grasp the opportunities of the large-scale development of Yunnan's comprehensive traffic infrastructure, form closer cooperation relations with Yunnan Province, develop deep connection in such domains as infrastructure construction and rail transit construction, become more comprehensively and more deeply infused in the development of Yunnan, achieve mutual benefits and win-win results, and jointly accelerate Yunnan's leap-forward development. Yunnan Province will create a favorable development environment as always, ensure that enterprise investment can obtain reasonable returns and realize the win-win results of both economic benefits and social benefits.
