Heat Test Completed by HTC for Electric Furnace in Tianjin

An overall heat test was successfully undertaken for electric furnace (2×110 tons) of Tianjin Tiangang Steel Group on December 18, 2009. This facility was contracted by Huatian Engineering & Technology Corporation of MCC (HTC), with an annual output of 2.3 million tons. As an integrated system engineering, it consists of: (i) 220kV main substation; (ii) scrap steel treatment and supply system; (iii) molten iron supply system; (iii) main workshop for steel-making by electric furnace; (iv) auxiliary facilities; and (v) energy medium supply system. The processing equipment for steel-making by electric furnace included: two 110t UHP AC electrical arc furnace, two 110LF refined-smelting ladle furnace, one set of vacuum refining installation, one square/round billet caster, one large round billet caster and one plate blank caster. After completion, the production capability of Tiangang will be further rationalized and a more appropriate product mix will be realized.
