The Upgrading Project of Huzhou Bilang Wastewater Treatment Plant was completed and put into commissioning recently in Zhejiang Province. This is the very first facility of such kind built up in the river basin of Taihu Lake and is available for utilization.
This works was undertaken by Huatian Engineering & Technology Corporation of MCC (HTC) and Ma’anshan and Ma’anshan Huaqi Environment Protection Consortium on an EPC basis. The facility consists of three individual constructions, namely pelleting workshop, filtering station and disinfection tank. Prepositive anti-nitration technology (Biological aerated filters with chlorine dioxide disinfectant), which is the most advanced one at present, is employed as the core technology. With a designed daily sewage treatment capacity of 20,000 tons, it is a system engineering for advanced treatment of the waster-water from the secondary system. As per the request of the Employer, the quality of the outflow water will be increased from the current B Grade to A Grade. In this way, the water quality of Taihu Lake will be greatly improved, and thus the algae outbreak can be efficiently controlled.
The captioned project was commenced on Jan. 13, 2009 and completed in the end of August 2009. During a period of over one months, trial runs were carried out for the individual device and the inflow-water operation, and the test results have proved the facility to be qualified for utilization. On November 23, 2009, the works passed through the final inspection for acceptance by the Employer.
