On October 16, 2009, a grand completion and commissioning ceremony was convened in Inner Mongolia for the Calcium-carbide Furnace Tail-gas Utilization Project of Junheng Energy Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd. Under the project, the annual output is estimated to be 200,000 tons for lime. Officials present at the event included: Feng Yuzhen, Standing Member of CPC Wuhai Municipal Committee % Exective Vice Mayor of Wuhai Municipal Government; Chairman Du Jiangtao and Executive President Huang Hui of unheng Energy; Chairman Chen Ming and Vice General Manager Chen Gang of Shanghai Baoye Construction Corp., Ltd. (SBC-MCC).
The project is located in the Economic Development Zone of Wuda District. The annular shaft lime kiln is one of key supportive works for the circle economic engineering invested by Junzheng Group, with a daily output of 600 tons. During the production process, the self-owned lime stone of Junzheng Energy will be utilized as the raw materials and the purified tail-gas will be employed for fuel. The active lime thus generated will be transferred to the calcium-carbide furnace as raw materials for production purpose. Therefore the target of economic, energy-saving and environment protection will be surly achieved. The smooth commissioning of the facility is of epoch-making significance, symbolizing that the tail-gas generated by Calcium-carbide Furnace could be, for the first time in China, recovered by annular shaft lime kiln and then reutilized for production of calcium carbide. This facility will contribute a lot to the energy-saving and emission-reduction work of the whole country, and therefore enjoys a promising development prospect.
