On October 20, 2009, an on-the-spot promotion conference for qualified, safe and civilized project construction was convened by China First Metallurgical Construction Corporation (CFMCC) on the jobsite of fast lane from Huangpu Boulevard to Jinqiao Avenue, which was located at Hankou Section of the 2nd Ring Road of Wuhan City.
This lane is a key project for linking three towns of Wuhan, with a total investment of RMB 6 billion yuan. The jobsites of E9 and E8 bridge piers have been rated to be in compliance with the requirements of standardized project site stipulated by Wuhan City in terms of engineering quality, implementation progress and civilized construction, and gained high premium from leaders of higher authorities for quite a few times. Nearly 100 employees of Foundation Company and Construction & Installation Company of CFMCC observed the timbering of steel formwork, binding of reinforcing steel bars, concrete casting and curing for the bridge piers. The participants were also showed around the jobsite and the safety protection measures.
On the project site, Vice General Manager Wu Gangping of CFMCC requested all the participants to: (i) attach great importance to the enforcement of professional standards and specifications; (ii) increase the input in manufacturing and installation of moulding boards; (iii) undertake construction works according to the practices of E9 and E8 bridge piers; and (iv) complete construction works with high quality to the satisfaction of Wuhan citizens.
