The Chimney Project of Qingshan Thermal Power Plant (a subsidiary of China Guodian Corporation), which was contracted by the Industrial Furnace Company of China First Metallurgical Construction Corporation (CFMCC), was formally commenced in Wuhan on September 9, 2009. The 2×350MW combined heat and power generation project of Qingshan Plant is one of the concrete actions in response to the energy-saving and emission reduction policies formulated by the State Government for the thermal power industry. The contracted chimney is featured by a height of 20m, the maximum bottom diameter of 24m, an internal diameter of 7.8m for the outlet. The foundation of the chimney is designed as a ring structure with a natural groundwork and an embedded depth of 4.6m.
With the construction technique of furnaces and kilns holds a leading position in the industry, the Industrial Furnace Company of CFMCC has undertaken quite a few projects of super-elevated structures.
