WISDRI Bags New Design Contract from Valin-ArcelorMittal

WISDRI Engineering & Research Incorporation Ltd. (WISDRI) announced that, the Engineering Design Contract on Valin-ArcelorMittal Auto Sheet Plant and Electrical Sheet Projects was entered into between WISDRI and Valin-ArcelorMittal on August 27, 2011. Jiao Guohua, Vice General Manager, Vice Party Secretary & Chief Engineer of Valin-Lianyuan Iron & Steel Group, as well as the Headquarter Chief of the aforesaid project, led a delegation to visit WISDRI. Chairman Xiang Mingwu, General Manager Xiao Bai and the relevant department directors of WISDRI extended a warm welcome to the delegation, and both parties conducted friendly discussion on the matters of common interest.
General Manager Eduardo Brito of Valin-ArcelorMittal Electrical Sheet Company and General Manager Xiao Bai of WISDRI delivered speeches at the signing ceremony. Afterwards representatives of both parties signed the contract. This is not only the collaboration between WISDRI and Valin-ArcelorMittal for the very first time in the field of cold rolled silicon steel, but also a new cooperative attempt jointly undertaken by WISDRI and Valin Group.
Valin-ArcelorMittal Auto Sheet Plant Project is featured by an annual output capacity of 1.5 million tons under the first phase and an additional capacity of 500,000 tons under the second phase. With regard to Valin-ArcelorMittal Electrical Sheet Project, it is designed with an annual output capacity of 300,000 tons under the first phase and an additional capacity of 500,000 tons under the second phase. As early as in the end of 2007, WISDRI initiatively started to offer support to the employer in the project planning. After modification of dozens of times on the various proposals, the Feasibility Report and Project Application Report were respectively finished. Moreover WISDRI assisted the employer in completion of the assessment work for the environmental impact. On this ground, these two projects were eventually approved by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), thus a consolidated foundation was successfully laid for the smooth implementation of the projects. During this process, WISDRI’s outstanding technical expertise, enriched engineering experiences of the professionals and the engagement spirit of the staff were placed with a high premium by the employer.
