NETC Engaged to Design World’s Largest Iron Mine Processes

MCC Northern Engineering & Technology Corporation (NETC) announced recently that it completed the feasibility study work for Dataigou Iron Ore Mining and Concentration Works of Yizhongxin Mining Co., Ltd. At present, the preliminary plan documents are being prepared intensely.
Dataigou Iron Mine is so far the largest single iron ore deposit detected in the whole world. After verification and comparison, the mining capacity under the first phase of the project is determined to be 30 million tons per annum, while the initial capacity is 15 million tons per annum. Under the second phase, the annual mining capacity is 30 million tons. Thus the overall annual capacity of the project will be up to 60 million tons.
The mine is to be extracted by means of sublevel caving method without sill pillar, and exploited jointly through the main/auxiliary shafts and the slope ramp. The main shaft is the double-skip shaft, and according to the design, one tower shall be utilized for the five shafts. The net diameter of the shaft is 6m. The hoisting capacity for a single skip shaft is to be 6 million tons per annum. The auxiliary shaft is a cage shaft with a net diameter of 9.8m, and will be mainly utilized for lifting of workers, part of the materials and bulky goods under the first and the second phases of the project. Meanwhile it will also be used for air- intake and drainage purpose. Within the shaft, there are two sets of cages and the balance-weight lifting system.
Dataigou Iron Mine is featured by huge exploitation scope and big depth of of burial. On this ground, various technical indicators of the works have been proved to be of top rank among the similar works both in China and the foreign countries. This project is also deemed to be largest underground iron ore mining works of our company and of the whole country.
